Writing Update 2/13/26

For anyone who's interested in this, after my most a couple of weeks ago I've been continuing to plow ahead on my current WIP. I've mentioned that my goal has been to write 500-1000 words per day, which I felt was very doable and easy to work in around the various other things I've got going on in my life atm, and so far most days I've at least hit 1000 and often gone over (occasionally quite a bit over, if I find myself on a roll;))! At the moment, I've completed a prologue and four full chapters, as well as a significant chunk of chapter five, and as of this afternoon I officially hit 23,302 words in total. Yay!

Anyway, I know it's not sporking or reviewing and that's what most people who follow me are probably here for, but I am quite happy with my progress so far and I felt like sharing! If you want to see more updates like this, do let me know. And if anyone has any questions about my WIP, I'd be happy to answer those too. But until then, if anyone's reading this, thank you!

Woo, congrats! I'm so happy for you! Been hit with the old writer's block a lot lately so I must admit I'm a tad jealous, but mostly just really chuffed on your behalf.

Awww, thank you! I was having some writers block myself (particularly with this story regarding getting over the hump of actually introducing the characters before getting to the parts I really wanted to write), which is part of why I sat myself down and just gave myself a concrete daily goal - to motivate myself to produce something, even if I have to go back and edit or revise it later, versus angsting about whether it's good enough and then not getting anything done.

I am, quite honestly, looking forward to it. Sporking/reviewing is fun because even the readers can contribute to it, in their own ways, but it's still more exciting to see something entirely new. And while I have a lot of things I really should catch up on, reading wise, it might honestly be easier to just start something fresh, without all the pre-existing pressure.

Thank you! Not sure when/if I'll have this in condition where it'll be something I'd want to share, but when I do, I'll be sure you let you know! And FWIW, I'm feeling very pleased about what I've managed to do with this so far.
